When we first set up this station over 2 years ago we had a short wish list of DJ’s that we knew we had a shot at for contributing podcasts to us. Very near the top of that list was DJ Naughty.

Barely out of his teens, Naughty took the urban London scene by storm as one of the original innovators of what would be known as the Funky sound, or “UK Funky”. Essentially the re emergence of the London take on House music that dominated the young London and Ayia Napa party scenes of 2008 – 2010. His seminal “Quicktime” EP is one of the most important records of that movement and stands the test of time as an all time classic of the genre. As a DJ, Naughty was drafted as the youngest member of the legendary Heartless Crew. His high energy DJ sets solidified his position as one of the leading Funky DJ’s alongside names like Marcus Nasty, Pioneer, Supa D and Roska.

Numerous releases later on Spoil Rotten and Roska’s Kicks & Snares and Naughty’s sound has progressed closer to Funky’s soulful House roots. This mix showcases the current deeper, darker more soulful take on House music that London’s Funky scene has gravitated towards. In a sense the scene has “grown up”. We just look at it as another stop along the never ending Hardcore Continuum of urban London influenced bass music. Where ever it goes we know Naughty will be right there on the cusp of it.
