One of the things that we really notice that’s different between the current crop of young DJ’s from when we were starting out, (many, many late nights ago) is that the new generation isn’t waiting around for anybody to bring them in like we had to go thru. We’ve been patiently waiting for Freeza to come with an all Grime mix for Channel One for months. In addition to being one of the leading Funky DJ’s in this country, Freeza Chin has been the THE preeminent Grime DJ in North America for years.

We have a theory at Channel One: Anybody who takes the time to painstakingly build, maintain and invest in their own soundsystem designed to produce chest shattering bass automatically gets our respect. Spyne and his 40hz crew is one such person.

Channel One’s resident experimental b boy bass scientist XI has been winning like Charlie Sheen all year long. Fresh off the back of his latest release on Orca Recordings, expect a larger project for the label on the way later in 2011. You can also catch him at tour dates lined up at a number of the years major US festivals starting in march, but the kid still found the time to spend his birthday with the crew at our last Channel One Party.

Brooklyn NY’s Liondub has been a lynchpin for all stops along the hardcore continuum for close to 20 years. his label, Lion Dub International which he runs with Marcus Visionary is a conduit for the colliding cultures of Jamaican, British and North American electronic street music, binding them together as one.

He is also a seasoned international DJ, always loaded with the latest Jungle/Dnb, Dubstep, Dancehall and Foundation dubs.
